Description
Mokk and Nuk, former thieves from the Tai-Koh Region, accept a shadowy employer’s commission to steal Touda eggs for profit. Their scheme unravels when Erin thwarts their theft and later saves them from a rampaging wild Touda, an act that sparks their moral reckoning. Forsaking crime, they pledge unwavering loyalty to Erin, determined to repay her through service.

Transitioning from hired criminals, they settle into roles as diligent ranch hands under Joh-on, eventually rising to lead caretakers at Kazalmu Beast Sanctuary. Their boisterous antics and playful camaraderie inject levity into the narrative, offsetting its graver political and emotional undercurrents. Affectionately dubbing Erin “Little Miss” or “Erin-Chan,” they balance their comedic roles with steadfast support, positioning themselves as her earnest, if occasionally hapless, guardians.

As the story’s stakes escalate, their involvement recedes to sporadic supportive tasks, though their loyalty remains constant. While their past as thieves receives minimal elaboration, their arc centers on redemption—evolving from opportunistic outsiders to devoted allies. Their partnership, marked by well-meaning mishaps and jovial banter, contrasts sharply with the solemnity of surrounding characters.

Exclusive to the anime adaptation, Mokk and Nuk’s inclusion introduces a deliberate tonal counterbalance absent from the source novels, their humor and dynamic with Erin crafted to soften the narrative’s darker edges.
