Doctor Jumba Jookiba hails from Quelte Quan, a Kweltikwan scientist educated at Evil Genius University alongside Dr. Jacques von Hämsterviel. Following graduation, the pair founded the business "Jokes on You" and subsequently collaborated at Galaxy Defense Industries, with Jumba as Lead Scientist specializing in metamorphosis. Hämsterviel funded Jumba's genetic research, enabling the creation of 629 illegal experiments over roughly 25 years. Hämsterviel eventually reported Jumba to the Galactic Federation, resulting in Jumba's arrest and trial. His creation, Experiment 626 (Stitch), was key to his conviction. Stitch was sentenced to exile but escaped to Earth, leading the Federation to temporarily release Jumba. Accompanied by Agent Pleakley, Jumba was sent to Earth to retrieve Stitch. Physically, Jumba is large and heavyset. His back and limbs are purple, while his face, chest, stomach, and underarms are pink. He has four eyes with pale yellow sclerae, a wide mouth featuring blunt, hippo-like teeth, a bulbous purple nose, and small floppy ears with pink interiors. He is mostly bald except for three short black hairs atop his head, his original long curly locks having been consumed by Experiment 177 (Clip). On Earth, he typically wears a yellow or light blue Hawaiian shirt, blue shorts with white linings, and gray boots. During incarceration, he wore a striped blue prison jumpsuit, and a white lab coat for scientific work. Jumba possesses superhuman strength, capable of ripping cabinets from walls and throwing heavy objects, and notable durability, surviving impacts like being hurled through walls and hit by a Volkswagen Beetle. His exceptional intellect enabled the creation of complex genetic life forms and advanced technology like plasma weaponry, spaceships, and the Tantalog language. He engineered each experiment with specific destructive capabilities and vulnerabilities, memorizing all their technical details. Despite proclaiming himself an "evil genius" initially motivated by chaos, his personality blends scientific arrogance with underlying sociability. He expresses paternal pride towards his experiments, especially Stitch. His character shifts after encountering Lilo Pelekai and Stitch on Earth. Initially focused solely on capturing Stitch, he gradually integrates into Lilo's 'ohana (family). This change is marked by his decision to help rescue Lilo from Captain Gantu, defying his mission. Post-redemption, he adopts a fatherly role within the Pelekai household, contributing inventions like a vacuum-tube elevator and modifications to Lilo's dune buggy for experiment hunting. He cohabitates with Pleakley, their relationship evolving from antagonistic to close friendship. Jumba references a contentious divorce, negatively comparing his ex-wife to a lamprey eel and expressing fear of her nagging, while maintaining greater respect for his mother. His loyalty to his Earth family is tested when the Grand Councilwoman offers his lab back after most experiments were recovered. Hesitant, he departs with Lilo's blessing only to be kidnapped by Hämsterviel and forced to create Experiment 629 (Leroy). Jumba covertly programs Leroy with a deactivation trigger using an Elvis Presley record from Lilo. Following these events, he voluntarily relinquishes his lab permanently to rejoin Lilo's family on Earth. Throughout subsequent adventures, including activating and rehabilitating his remaining experiments scattered across Hawaii, Jumba balances mischievous tendencies with genuine care for his creations and human companions. His scientific work continues, often repurposing Earth materials for inventions or experiment solutions, though these endeavors sometimes cause unintended chaos due to design flaws or interference.
