Timid and submissive, Steak cowers under Niche’s culinary escapades but clings loyally to her head, even mid-combat. Despite its skittish nature, it boldly confronts Gaichuu, scaling the colossal insects to expose vulnerabilities with its tail, guiding Lag’s Shindanjuu strikes. Its cavernous mouth doubles as a rescue tool, hauling objects or allies to safety.

A surviving member of the Kapellmeister species—an ancient lineage once symbiotically tied to Spirit Insects, now presumed extinct—Steak’s pre-captivity past remains shrouded. Integrated into Niche and Lag’s group post-escape, it balances passivity with flashes of shrewdness, such as fleeing to summon aid during peril or briefly deserting Niche to evade her cookpot, taking refuge with Sylvette Suede before returning.

Steak’s role persists as a steadfast companion, blending tactical combat support against Gaichuu with a humorously fraught rapport with Niche.
