Description
Nadya Ruslanova was born in Moscow, U.S.S.R. to parents employed by the Moscow Circus, though her exact birthdate remains classified. Drafted at age 14 in 1942, she attended a special military boarding school, graduating with honors from an occult-military program. This training granted her clairvoyant and extra-sensory abilities alongside expertise in sword combat. Immediately recruited into the supernatural Soviet task force "First Squad," she executed multiple intelligence missions during World War II.
Early in the Eastern Front campaign, Nadya became the unit’s sole survivor after her teammates fell in battle, an ordeal that triggered severe memory loss. Unable to continue military duties, she joined a traveling performance troupe, using her psychic skills for entertainment until a Luftwaffe strike left her as the only survivor once more. An elderly man rescued her from freezing conditions.
Her powers proved pivotal when the German occult group Ahnenerbe attempted to summon the medieval knight Baron von Wolff and his undead army during the rare "Moment of Truth"—a 700-year celestial event capable of altering history. Soviet intelligence deployed Nadya to the "Gloomy Valley," a realm of the dead, where she confronted her amnesia to locate and convince her fallen First Squad comrades to return. Acting as a bridge between worlds, she rallied them to thwart the Nazi ritual.
After World War II, Nadya reemerged as a Soviet veteran during the USRAC War. Despite the Soviet Union’s dissolution, she reformed the First Squad, whose members reappeared unaged. The squad aligned with the Beleninsk Pact, honing advanced combat skills to battle resurgent Nazis, undead legions, and Ahnenerbe occultists anew.
