Habaki loyally serves warlord Gaoh, reporting Reina's assaults on Black Steel Castle and voicing apprehension when Sakuya gains entry. After Gaoh dies from Reina's arrow, Habaki conducts a brief funeral. Despite the desertion of many followers, he vows to continue defending the fortress. He confronts Reina in battle, wielding his Nanto Shuga Ken style to manipulate air currents and shatter her sword. This initial advantage ends with Raoh's intervention. Habaki then faces Raoh directly, unleashing his Senpu Ga technique which merely scratches Raoh's face. Though Raoh acknowledges Habaki's skill, he deems it inferior to Hokuto Shinken. Their duel culminates at sunrise in a final clash of fists that obliterates Habaki's upper body.
