Description
Hiro Okita, a 16-year-old second-year student at Kitakado High School, balances academics with a high-octane life as an underground street racer and professional competitor. His Kawasaki Z400GP motorcycle propels him through both shadowy midnight races and sanctioned circuit events, often alongside his best friend and racing ally, Gun Koma. When Miyuki Ichinose—daughter of a prominent racing team president—recruits him for her team’s 4-hour Suzuka Raceway endurance challenge, Hiro’s loyalty is tested. He spearheads a daring rescue after Miyuki is kidnapped by a vengeful rival, cementing his protective nature and commitment to allies. Though Miyuki’s unspoken romantic interest lingers, Hiro’s personal feelings remain ambiguous.
In professional endurance races, he adapts to strategic rider swaps, relying on his unyielding determination and a rigid moral code rooted in classic shonen principles. During the Suzuka race, mechanical setbacks and intense pressure push his resilience to its limits, forcing him to dig deeper to uphold his team’s ambitions. His striking pompadour hairstyle sets him apart visually, echoing his bold on-track persona. While his academic and racing lives initially intertwine, Hiro gradually transitions to a supporting role in later events, contributing from the pit crew as new challenges take center stage.
