Description
Chisame Hasegawa occupies the 25th position in Japanese alphabetical order within Mahora Academy's class 2/3-A. A self-imposed isolate, she views her classmates as "idiots and freaks," bristling at their acceptance of a ten-year-old teacher and behavior she deems unfit for an academic environment. Her pragmatic nature leads her to initially rationalize supernatural occurrences as non-magical, even when witnessing them directly.

Simultaneously, she lives a double life as the celebrated web idol "Chiu" (alternately Chiu-Chiu or Biblio Rulan Rouge). Operating a dedicated website, she posts cosplay images meticulously enhanced using the "Photoshock" editing program. She jealously guards this secret, fearing exposure would brand her an eccentric like her peers. Her classmate and teacher, Negi Springfield, discovers her identity early, becoming a daily visitor to her site—a source of intense mortification that complicates her attempts to avoid him.

Chisame's development starts as she is drawn reluctantly into Negi's magical world. During the Mahora Festival, she overcomes stage fright to win an underground costume contest as Chiu. Attending the Mahora Martial Arts Tournament at Negi's invitation further challenges her isolationist stance. After forming a Pactio contract with Negi, she gains the artifact "Sceptrum Virtuale." This staff allows her to project her consciousness into cyberspace as a tangible realm and transport others while their bodies remain behind, an ability dependent on internet connectivity and laptop battery life. Within this digital space, she commands seven virtual entities (Kincha, Hanpe, Konnya, Chikuwafu, Negi, Daiko, and Shirataki) that detect digital threats, manipulate data to boost her idol popularity, and aid navigation. The Pactio also enables transformation into various net-idol personas through cosplay, a power she frequently employs.

A pivotal moment arrives when she withstands Poyo Rainyday's fake Cosmo Entelecheia attack due to being labeled a "Rea-Juu" – internet slang for someone with a fulfilling real life. This contradicts her self-image as a recluse, causing profound shock yet catalyzing her acceptance of deeper bonds with classmates like Chachamaru, who increasingly involves her in group activities. Her relationships shift from disdain to reluctant camaraderie, particularly during the Chao Ark and Magical World conflicts.

Later, Negi confesses his feelings. Chisame initially rejects him citing their age difference, but eventually reciprocates. They marry, as confirmed in the UQ Holder! spin-off. Despite her evolution, core traits endure: her affinity for compact, powerful devices like sub-notebook PCs and her disdain for the unexpected. Her physical characteristics include orange hair (manga/OVAs/ANIME FINAL), brown eyes, a height of 162 cm, and measurements of B82-W57-H78.
