Description
Nozomi Yumehara begins her story as a 14-year-old student at L'École des Cinq Lumières. She possesses magenta hair styled in pigtails with yellow bobbles, purple eyes, and favors casual wear combining pink tops with blue bottoms. Her personality blends optimism, kindness, and occasional distractibility, especially concerning food. While academically unexceptional and clumsy, she demonstrates strong empathy and persistent hope. Her impulsive yet determined nature surfaces in her catchphrase, "It's decided!" Initially lacking direction, her encounter with the fairy Coco proves pivotal, inspiring her to pursue teaching.

Discovering the Dream Collet in her school library alongside Coco—who seeks to restore his destroyed homeland, the Palmier Kingdom—triggers her transformation into Cure Dream, the Pretty Cure of Hope. In this form, her hair lengthens to waist-level, turning bright pink and forming large rings secured by yellow butterfly-shaped clips. She dons a cream-and-fuchsia two-piece battle outfit with matching gloves and boots, featuring butterfly motifs and a green brooch. Her transformation declaration is "The great power of hope, Cure Dream!" This form grants enhanced strength, crystallokinesis, and starlight-based abilities. As the de facto leader, she recruits Rin Natsuki (Cure Rouge), Urara Kasugano (Cure Lemonade), Komachi Akimoto (Cure Mint), and Karen Minazuki (Cure Aqua) to combat the Nightmare organization.

Her combat abilities expand through multiple forms. Initial attacks include Dream Attack, releasing a light butterfly, and Crystal Shoot, firing crystalline energy. In Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GoGo!, she gains the melee-focused Shooting Star. The film Happy Birthday in the Land of Sweets sees her achieve Shining Dream—an angelic form with neon-pink hair and wings, wielding the Starlight Fleuret for the Starlight Solution attack. Further power-ups include Super Cure Dream (featuring butterfly wings), Rainbow Cure Dream (golden wings in crossover films), and Dream Cure Grace (a fusion form with Cure Grace showcasing butterfly-winged skirts).

Key relationships shape her path. Childhood best friend Rin Natsuki provides grounding. Coco evolves from mentor to romantic interest; their bond culminates in marriage in Kibou no Chikara ~Otona Pretty Cure '23~, making her queen consort of Palmier Kingdom. Rivalry-turned-friendship with Milk/Kurumi centers on Coco's attention. As an adult, she mentors student Rumi Katagiri, fiercely supporting Rumi's dance aspirations against institutional obstacles. Pretty Cure 5☆Reborn reveals her as the twin sister of Yumehara Kibo; she gifts Kibo a hope-imbued silver coin and later fights alongside her.

Her adult life in Kibou no Chikara fulfills her career dream as an elementary school teacher. Residing near Coco, she faces physical strain reactivating her Cure Dream powers via the Time Flower to battle Shadows. This exertion causes fainting spells and culminates in a week-long coma after the final battle. Post-recovery, she accepts Coco's marriage proposal, balancing her human responsibilities with royal duties. Her appearance matures: longer hair styled in braids replaces pigtails, and professional attire like violet shirts with peach coats reflects her growth while retaining her core optimism.
