Description
Park Haneul, localized as Komachi Akimoto in Japanese media, serves as a core member of the Pretty Cure team starting in *Yes! Pretty Cure 5* and continues in *Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GoGo!* and later appearances. A student at L'École des Cinq Lumières, she embodies a bookish personality, devoted to reading and writing while aspiring to become an author. Her family owns a traditional Japanese sweets shop, providing food for the Palmier Kingdom mascots Coco and Nuts. Though characteristically kind and reserved, she possesses a notable temper that flares when provoked, leading to sudden outbursts.
As Cure Mint, she represents the Cure of Tranquility, harnessing earth-based powers with green as her theme color. Her transformation call is "The green earth of tranquility, Cure Mint!". Her attacks and motifs draw from earth and plant life, reflecting her tranquil nature. Visually, her Cure form features longer hair and a green-dominated costume adorned with butterfly-themed accessories, consistent with the team's motif.
Her journey focuses on overcoming shyness and embracing her emotions. Initially hesitant to express her feelings openly, she relies heavily on her best friend Karen. A significant relationship develops with Nats (Nuts), a prince of the Palmier Kingdom who appears as a squirrel mascot but can transform into a human known as Mr. Natsu. Their shared passion for books blossoms into mutual romantic feelings. This bond empowers her to gain confidence in expressing herself, both personally and as a Cure.
In the spin-off *Kibou no Chikara ~Otona Pretty Cure '23~*, she appears as an adult who has achieved her dream of becoming a published author. Her romantic relationship with Nats culminates in marriage, signifying her complete emotional growth. Despite her adulthood, she retains the ability to transform into Cure Mint, reverting physically to her teenage form during the transformation. Her adult portrayal maintains her core thoughtful nature and literary passion while showcasing her maturity.
