TV-Series
Description
Sonata Kanzaki endured a childhood scarred by abandonment and homelessness. Supporting herself as a teenage dishwasher, her path shifted dramatically upon seeing Kyoko Asechi crowned Prism Queen on television. This ignited her own Prism Star dream. Lacking funds for lessons, she practiced independently while cleaning rinks part-time.

Her raw talent propelled her into a defining rivalry with Kyoko Asechi. Meeting Ryutaro Amamiya at a zoo bear exhibit led to marriage and her surname change to Amamiya. They had a daughter, Rizumu. Despite happiness, Sonata wrestled with guilt over Ryutaro sacrificing his own entertainment career for hers, compounded by deep-seated fears of losing her family rooted in her past.

Her defining achievement came during the Prism Queen Cup: successfully performing the legendary Aurora Rising Prism Jump. She wore the Pure White Wedding Dress, Pure Crystal Tiara, and Pure Crystal High Heel gifted by Ryutaro. This followed intense training under Kei, who insisted mastering Aurora Rising demanded total devotion to Prism Shows and sacrificing personal attachments. The triumph left her emotionally shattered, consumed by guilt over neglecting her family. Shortly after, she vanished without explanation, leaving Ryutaro and young Rizumu.

Her disappearance lasted roughly 13 years. She resided in Russia, working at a circus where she encountered Kaname Chris. Sonata took Kaname as her apprentice and adopted daughter, training her to perform the true Aurora Rising. She pursued this believing her own Aurora Rising had been incomplete or "fake," seeking its genuine meaning.

She eventually returned to Japan and reconciled with Ryutaro, resuming her roles as his wife and mother to both Rizumu and Kaname. Within the Dear My Future timeline, she and Ryutaro had another child. She also became connected to Hibiki Toudou and Kanon Toudou through Rizumu's marriage to Hibiki.

Her name holds symbolism: "Sonata" references a musical composition form. Her maiden surname "Kanzaki" combines "god" (神, kan) and "cape/peninsula" (崎, saki/zaki). Her married surname "Amamiya" combines "heaven/sky" (天, ama) and "temple/shrine/palace" (宮, miya), meaning "Palace of Heaven".
