As elder of Amaurot village in the subterranean realm of Agartha, he governs a community deeply wary of outsiders. He is Manna's grandfather, whose rescue by the protagonists brings Asuna, Morisaki, and Shin to the village gates. His daughter Dinah previously married a man from the surface, forging his personal family connection to topsiders despite the prevailing village distrust. When the villagers initially resist aiding the surface group, he intervenes. Citing their safe return of Manna, he persuades the guards to grant entry, permitting the group to stay only one night in accordance with cultural limits on topsider hospitality. He later presides over the ritual offering of Mimi's body to a Quetzalcoatl, upholding Agarthan practices for the deceased. When villagers subsequently pursue Asuna and Morisaki to eliminate them, he does not act to stop the attack. His leadership reflects the historical tensions between Agartha and surface civilizations, marked by resource raids from above. This pragmatism balances communal traditions with measured compassion, informed by his familial experiences with topsiders.
