Description
Griselda "Zelda" Reginhard is the personal bodyguard and head of security for Princess Astarotte Ygvar in the kingdom of Ygvarland. While her origins and racial background are undisclosed, she outwardly appears human, with strong implications of a possible Valkyrja heritage contributing to her exceptional combat skills and status as one of the kingdom's most formidable warriors.

Zelda possesses a slim frame and small stature, standing 1.56 meters tall with auburn or dark purple hair (varying between manga and anime) typically styled in a high ponytail with bangs. She has golden eyes, a pale complexion, and maintains a weight of 47 kilograms with measurements of 74-56-81. She is characterized by insecurity regarding her small breast size and regularly wears fundoshi-style underwear, a habit from her hometown. Her standard attire is a black dress uniform.

Her personality blends stoicism with underlying emotional complexity, often exhibiting tomboyish tendencies. However, around her foster father and swordsmanship mentor, Atli, she attempts more feminine behavior. Zelda harbors longstanding romantic feelings for Atli, failing to recognize his homosexuality. Around the human newcomer Naoya Tohara, she displays tsundere behavior—initially cold and confrontational due to negative first impressions, with subtle hints suggesting a potential minor attraction. She feels intense embarrassment over her subordinates' revealing uniforms.

Raised from childhood and trained in swordsmanship by Atli, Zelda first encountered six-year-old Astarotte at age 13 during a visit from Judit, the princess's chief attendant. When a wild dog threatened Astarotte, Zelda intervened, earning the princess's praise and prompting her declaration to become Astarotte's permanent bodyguard—a role she formally assumed years later. Her combat prowess, considered the finest in Ygvarland's military, is attributed to Atli's training and her implied Valkyrja lineage.

Within Astarotte's household, Zelda acts as a trusted confidante and adviser, often siding with the princess's dislike of men rather than challenging it like other staff. She maintains unwavering loyalty to Astarotte's commands while voicing objections when concerned. Her fighting spirit emerges during inconclusive skill-testing encounters with Naoya, typically ended by external circumstances.

Key relationships define her character: a particularly close bond with Astarotte, service alongside colleagues like Judit and Effie, complicated dynamics with Atli involving unrequited affection, and an antagonistic yet potentially ambiguous regard for Naoya.
