Description
Kujou Hikari emerged as the physical manifestation of the "life" component when the Queen of Light fragmented into three parts: the Heartiels (her will), Hikari (her life essence), and Queen Chairect (her heart). Materializing in the human world with no memories or abilities from her former existence, she was found beside a river and taken in by Fujita Akane, who presented her as a cousin. She enrolled at Verone Academy alongside Misumi Nagisa and Yukishiro Honoka, forging a close friendship while working at Akane's mobile store, Tako Cafe. Her civilian look features long blonde hair typically braided over one shoulder with pink accessories, olive green eyes, and casual attire like off-cream shirts, jeans, and pink sneakers.

As her alter ego Shiny Luminous, she transforms using the Touch Commune device inhabited by the fairy Pollun. This transformation brightens her hair, lengthening it into voluminous twin pigtails secured by pink bows with heart details, and clothes her in a light pink ruffled dress adorned with gold and ruby heart motifs, white leg warmers, and arm warmers. Shiny Luminous differs from traditional Pretty Cure fighters by lacking direct combat strength. Instead, she wields the Heartiel Baton to perform "Heartiel Action," a supportive ability shielding allies, disrupting enemies, and amplifying the powers of Cure Black and Cure White. Later, she gains the Heartiel Brooch from Pollun's sister Lulun, enabling protective force fields. Her transformation incantation is: "Shining life, Shiny Luminous! The light's heart and the light's will, for the sake of uniting all as one!"

Profoundly gentle, polite, and naive due to her amnesia and newborn-like understanding of human life, Hikari rarely expresses anger, often internalizing concerns to avoid burdening others. She exhibits unwavering kindness, particularly a maternal protectiveness toward Pollun and Lulun. Her relationships extend beyond Nagisa and Honoka to include classmates Tabata Nao and Kagayama Miu, Akane (an older-sister figure), and a mysterious boy later revealed as her biological younger brother, Kujou Hikaru. Her journey centers on self-discovery: she grapples with her destiny to reunite with the Heartiels and Queen Chairect to revive the Queen of Light—a process that would erase her individuality. Initially passive, her growing appreciation for human experiences leads her to voluntarily sacrifice herself near the series' climax to protect her friends and the world. Following the Queen's restoration, she unexpectedly separates, regaining autonomy and continuing life with Nagisa, Honoka, and Hikaru.

In spin-offs like *Kibou no Chikara ~Otona Pretty Cure '23~*, she participates in battles against the Shadows, aiding in sealing threats while questioning collateral damage during protection. She appears in crossover films, including *Pretty Cure All Stars DX3: Deliver the Future! The Rainbow-Colored Flower That Connects the World*. In this film, villains' multidimensional attack places her with Cures Rouge, Lemonade, Passion, Sunshine, and Moonlight on a giant board game dimension. After Lord Black Hole dismantles the Cures' transformation devices, she contributes to the collective effort harnessing the Prism Flower's power for victory, maintaining a supportive rather than central role.

Her name reflects her nature: "Hikari" means "light," aligning with her powers, while "Kujou" incorporates "ku" (nine) and "jou" (article/clause), possibly alluding to the tripartite division. Her birthday is September 9, reinforcing the numerical theme.
