Kana Asō is a high school student and senior member of her school's literature club, possessing brown hair and brown eyes. Her glasses are a prominent, core aspect of her identity and self-expression. She consciously chose them over contact lenses, inspired by admiration for a teacher who wore them, believing glasses make people look smarter, cooler, and more beautiful. She refuses to remove them unless absolutely necessary.

Her personality blends quietness with noticeable quirkiness, particularly evident in interactions with literature club junior Jun'ichi Kamiya, who joined when she was the sole member. Their dynamic centers on conflicting views about glasses: Jun'ichi actively tries to remove hers due to negative past associations, while Kana vigorously defends her eyewear choice. This creates recurring tension as she resists his efforts.

A turning point occurs when Kana discovers Jun'ichi secretly requires glasses himself due to poor eyesight, a fact he concealed. This revelation significantly shifts her perspective. She finds both satisfaction and amusement in this new knowledge, and despite no physical changes in Jun'ichi, she begins viewing him through an altered emotional lens. Her story is confined to the first episode of the OVA adaptation.
