Description
**Raidiese "Rai" F. Branstein**
Originally from the Branstein family, he is the second son of Mayer W. Branstein and younger brother of Elsam von Branstein. The Elpis colony attack irrevocably altered his life when terrorists took his daughter-in-law Cattleya Fujiwara-Branstein hostage. Forced to eliminate both terrorists and Cattleya, Elsam became the target of Raidiese’s enduring blame for her death. This tragedy drove Raidiese to renounce his surname, adopt "Fujiwara" as his middle name in Cattleya’s memory, and depart the colonies to enlist in the Earth Federation Army.

During lunar prototype testing for Mao Industry’s Huckebein 008, a catastrophic Black Hole Engine failure cost Raidiese his left arm. After receiving a prosthetic replacement, Ingram Plissken recruited him into the SRX Team as pilot of the R-2 unit. Despite lacking psychic abilities—unlike his teammates—his extraordinary piloting skills and tactical acumen solidified his role. Initial clashes with teammate Ryusei Date gradually transformed into mutual respect forged through combat.

Raidiese’s fractured relationship with Elsam spanned years but shifted during confrontations against mutual foes. Archibald Grims, orchestrator of the Elpis attack, became the focus of Raidiese’s vengeance. Grims’ subsequent affiliations with the Neo Divine Crusaders and Shadow Mirror only intensified this pursuit. At Operation Plantagenet within Earth Cradle, Raidiese and Elsam cornered Grims, culminating in Grims’ accidental demise via self-destructing mecha.

When Ingram Plissken defected to the Aerogators, Raidiese learned his non-psychic nature rendered him incompatible with the psychodriver-dependent SRX. He defiantly reaffirmed his permanent position as R-2 pilot, continuing the fight against Divine Crusaders remnants and Aerogaters alongside the team.

He extends protective vigilance toward Princess Shine Hausen, prioritizing her safety during their encounters. Raidiese sustains a calm and loyal disposition, deeply valuing family and comrades despite enduring traumas.
