Description
The King of the Night began as a mortal resurrected by Eucliwood Hellscythe, binding them in a complex alliance during their Underworld tenure. Euphoric at first over his zombified immortality, he gradually soured into viewing eternity as an inescapable prison, fueling spiteful actions. His murder of a Seventh Abyss noble fractured his bond with Eucliwood, who severed ties after his survival of her lethal retaliation. This rejection ignited his fixation on compelling her to annihilate him.
His schemes entangled others like Kyoko, a magical-garment wielder he warped into a soul-harvesting assassin. By gifting her resurrection abilities and Megalo enhancements, he weaponized her against his foes. When Ayumu thwarted Kyoko, the King unveiled his machinations, mocking Eucliwood’s circle. Later, posing as “Yoruno” at a mall pet shop, he baited Eucliwood into a clash that endangered her allies.
In his endgame, he abducted Eucliwood, threatening her comrades to coerce her cooperation. The conflict climaxed at Tokyo Tower, where he unleashed a city-devastating Megalo swarm. As battle raged, Ayumu confronted the King’s misguided assumptions about Eucliwood, exposing his emotional blindness. Bested in combat and self-awareness, the King implored Eucliwood to revoke his immortality. With his dissolution into the Underworld, she fulfilled his parting wish: rebirth as a penguin.
Cold and embittered by eternal existence, he nonetheless clung to an affinity for penguins—a vestige of his humanity. His powers encompassed enhanced strength, corrosive shadow mist for assaults and teleportation, parasitic explosives, and unkillability rooted in Eucliwood’s magic. These traits framed him as a tormented adversary whose cruelty sprang from existential anguish rather than inherent evil.
