Description
Yūhi Ōdō, older twin brother of Yuamu Ōdō and co-founder of the alien-centric odd-job organization UTS, dedicates himself to reclaiming Earthdamar—a mysterious substance he believes was stolen by extraterrestrial forces. This obsession fuels his immediate clash with alien envoy Yudias Velgear, initiating their rivalry through a Rush Duel.
In the series’ third season, Yūhi’s desperation culminates in wielding the "Monster Reborn" card and Dark Power to erase his memories, reborn as the antagonist Otes. As Otes, he schemes to manipulate timelines via Yuna Goha’s Time Machine, striving to reach his descendant Yuga Ōdō’s era. Defeat in a pivotal duel strips him of his Dark Power, casting him into the Sengoku era where he sheds the Otes persona, reverting to his original identity.
His dueling style mirrors his turbulent journey: early dependence on the ace monster Jointech Rex shifts to adopting the Varivelgear Duel Disk after his gear is destroyed. Key battles—such as his third-season loss to Yuamu and the final clash where his ace monster faces Yuga’s Fusion Monsters—highlight his ideological shifts and internal strife.
Though his alliance with Yuamu fractures when she briefly becomes the Dark Meister, their twin bond and shared leadership of UTS endure, anchoring their efforts to mediate interstellar disputes. Yūhi’s arc closes with the erasure of his Otes identity, leaving him unaware of his past as an antagonist. This resolution weaves into the overarching themes of legacy and temporal impact, cementing his role in shaping Yuga Ōdō’s destiny and the evolution of Rush Dueling.
