Description
Rhantolk Ytri Historia, known as Rhan, is a Leprechaun fairy soldier serving the Fairy Warehouse. One of only five fully matured fairy soldiers stationed there, she experienced the 'Harbinger' dream, leading to her assignment of the Dug Weapon Historia. Alongside Nopht, she was dispatched to protect the Surface Artifacts Recovery Team, facing the Beasts directly. This duty culminated in the Battle of Gormag and the death of Chtholly Nota Seniorious. Rhantolk required hospitalization after the battle before joining the main Sky Island defense force.
She possesses bright indigo hair and deep blue eyes, typically wearing a blue dress with long black boots. Calm and intellectually curious, Rhantolk harbors a strong interest in reading, poetry, history, and uncovering the origins of the Seventeen Beasts. Considered the most mature fairy soldier, her blunt or seemingly agitated speech causes younger fairies to fear her. She exhibits skepticism towards unfamiliar individuals, initially distrusting Willem Kmetsch as an Emnetwiht. Her hobbies include making desserts, and she has a particular fondness for snacks like cookies.
Her primary weapon was Historia, a Dug Weapon capable of accumulating memories from past users, used in combat against the Seventeen Beasts. She manipulates Venenum to enhance her reflexes and generate wings for high-altitude flight. Like all Leprechauns, she could activate the lethal 'Fairy Gate' at the cost of her life. She developed proficient swordsmanship, though her physical combat skills were less pronounced than Nopht's. She also possessed basic proficiency in translating the ancient human language, often relying on contextual inference for incomplete texts.
Following Chtholly's death, Rhantolk began researching necromancy, encountering the Great Sage Suwong Kandel. Under Suwong's tutelage during the five-year gap, she trained in soul manipulation. By the sequel series, she resigned from military service and returned Historia. Her acquired necromantic abilities include projecting fairy spirits as offensive projectiles, though the full scope remains undocumented. This period marks her shift from active combat to scholarly and arcane pursuits.
Trivia notes her first name references 'Rhan-Tegoth,' a Lovecraftian entity. She shares a close bond with Nopht, as both were born together and jointly assigned salvager missions. Her chronological age progresses from 14 during the original series to 19 in the sequel.
