Description
Utsunomiya Toramaru, an elementary school student acclaimed as his district's top soccer player, received an exemption from professional tournaments like the Football Frontier due to his age. Coach Hibiki later recruited him for Japan's national team, Inazuma Japan. Toramaru balances soccer with assisting his sick mother at her table d'hôte restaurant, "Toranoya," handling deliveries and operations. This responsibility sometimes reduces his practice time, leading to conflicts, such as emotional withdrawal after receiving distressing mail about his mother until resolving the issue with support.
Initially reluctant to score goals, preferring assists due to past experiences where teammates shunned him for overshadowing them, Toramaru's playstyle shifted during Inazuma Japan's match against Desert Lion. Encouragement from senior players, especially his idol Gouenji, prompted him to unleash his full potential. He executed the innate technique Tiger Drive, revealing his talent and adopting a more confident, competitive approach. Toramaru aspires to surpass Gouenji as a striker and develops mutual respect with teammates like Tobitaka, who becomes his mentor.
His techniques include Tiger Drive, Gladius Arch, and the RC Shoot learned under Tobitaka's guidance. He also masters combined techniques: Tiger Storm with Gouenji and Grand Fire with Gouenji and Hiroto. Post-FFI, he joined Raimon Junior High as a first-year student and became its ace striker. He participated in Raimon's graduation ceremony and final match, though not graduating himself.
In later years, Toramaru reappeared as an assistant to Ishido Shuuji during the Holy Road finals, observed matches alongside peers, and maintained soccer ties. His appearance evolved from youthful spiky blue-black hair to adolescent side bangs swept left, often wearing formal attire like a gray suit and gloves. He contributed to special missions, including joining Raimon to combat the Ogre squad, combining Tiger Drive with Gouenji's Maximum Fire in a chain shoot.
His recruitment across various games reflects ongoing relevance, requiring specific items, topics, or player connections in different timelines. Stats like Kick (72) and Speed (60) at level 99 highlight his forward capabilities and untapped potential.
