Description
Shizuka Kameidō runs an antique shop in the Maruko shopping district, her days marked by a penchant for everyday mishaps. She unknowingly mentors Hotori Arashiyama, sparking the younger woman’s fascination with detective work through casual yet pivotal interactions that nurture Hotori’s deductive curiosity.

In a timeline where Hotori never exists, Shizuka’s path shifts: she abandons her secret identity as mystery novelist Umekazu Kadoishi, a choice underscoring how Hotori’s presence unlocks her own hidden creativity.

During Hotori’s journey through the afterlife, Shizuka becomes entangled in a supernatural event. Machines in this realm distort photographs to implant ghostly visions, altering an image of the pair. Though Shizuka initially plans mischief, the edited photo unintentionally captures Hotori beside a phantom hand—a stark reminder of their shared brushes with the uncanny.

Her ties to the community, from organizing school festivals to casual bonds with neighbors, deepen her role as a quiet anchor in the town’s rhythm. Through routine and the occasional surreal intrusion, Shizuka embodies a life where stability and mystery intertwine.
