Description
Lieutenant General Miran Froaude serves in the Roland Imperial Army. His striking features include long black hair, pale skin, and icy green eyes radiating a dark, intimidating aura. He constantly wears a rule fragment ring, the Ring of the Dark Emperor.

Froaude operates under a ruthless philosophy: raw ambition justifies any means. He is convinced continental unification under Roland's rule is the sole path to lasting peace, pursuing this objective with cold, emotionless efficiency. He executes missions for maximum effect, autonomously undertaking covert operations and morally questionable deeds, sometimes without Sion Astal's knowledge or permission. Despite these extreme methods, he demonstrates profound loyalty to Sion, viewing him as a true king capable of necessary sacrifices for the greater good.

An orphan adopted by Marquis Karlal Froaude, he ascended rapidly through the military ranks, achieving Colonel by seventeen. He orchestrated a political purge to stabilize Roland internally, eliminating nobles so Sion could focus on external threats. During this purge, Froaude killed his adoptive father, who harbored unnatural affection for him. He nearly died in the event but was saved by Claugh Klom's intervention, resulting in a double promotion to Lieutenant General.

Froaude wields significant abilities as a descendant of Halford Miran, proficient in Roland's magic. His Rule Fragment, the Ring of the Dark Emperor, summons shadow beasts for combat; his lineage and ring ownership are acknowledged during confrontations where his heritage is directly referenced.

His interactions reveal complex dynamics. He maintains a dangerous curiosity about Lucile Eris's powers, testing them at personal risk to identify weaknesses, ultimately concluding Ferris Eris is Lucile's vulnerability. Within Sion's court, Froaude is one of only two individuals privy to "The Mad Hero" within Sion. He encounters Ryner Lute and Ferris Eris at Toale's residence, seriously wounding Ferris without recognizing their Roland affiliation. Later, during a fight involving Sui Orla and Kuu Orla, he indirectly saves Kuu by fatally injuring Sui. Aware of their Roland ties by then, he conceals his identity by claiming Stohl Empire allegiance, expressing regret that differing ideologies will eventually compel him to eliminate them. He acquires Sui Orla's Rule Fragment, the Blade of Dolueli, after this encounter.
