Description
Taro Urashima, a first-year transfer student at Otogi High School, stands a year older than his peers, carrying a charmingly roguish demeanor marked by playful flirtations. Despite his lighthearted antics, he remains devoted to Otohime Ryugu, his longtime partner since childhood. Their bond originated when Taro inspired Otohime’s transformation from a timid, bullied girl into a self-assured figure, though her lingering possessiveness complicates their dynamic. Beneath his carefree facade lies a fierce protector: in pivotal moments, he activates a "gentleman mode," amplifying his combat prowess and unyielding resolve to shield Otohime.

Their relationship blends humor and emotional gravity, often confronting Otohime’s vulnerabilities and Taro’s unwavering loyalty. His character echoes the Japanese folktale "Urashima Tarō," weaving themes of loyalty and temporal stakes, while one episode reimagines him as the hare from "The Tortoise and the Hare," symbolizing overconfidence tempered by consequence. Taro’s growth revolves around reconciling his flirtatious habits with his deep-seated dedication to Otohime, anchoring his duality as both a carefree charmer and a steadfast guardian.
