Kaho Fujitani attends Kuranose High School with Makoto Konno. After her grandmother frequently commends Kōsuke Tsuda's kindness and helpfulness, Kaho develops a strong crush on him, spurred by this familial endorsement. Encouraged by her friends, she gathers her courage and confesses directly to Kōsuke, but he rejects her.

Learning of this, Makoto Konno uses her power to leap through time. She travels back before the confession and convinces Kōsuke to invite Kaho and her two friends to join a baseball game with Makoto, Chiaki, and himself. This orchestrated group interaction allows Kaho and Kōsuke to connect more naturally, leading them to start dating.

Their relationship progresses; Kōsuke once borrows Makoto's bicycle to ride home with Kaho. Unaware the bicycle has faulty brakes, they descend a steep hill towards a railroad crossing, mirroring Makoto's earlier near-fatal accident and placing them directly in the path of an oncoming train. Makoto tries desperately to reach them and prevent the crash but fails, having exhausted her remaining time leaps. The initial timeline results in Kōsuke and Kaho being killed by the train.

However, Chiaki Mamiya reveals his own time-leaping ability and uses his final leap to intervene. He successfully prevents their deaths, rewriting the outcome and ensuring their survival. Following this traumatic event and Chiaki's subsequent departure from their timeline, Kaho and Kōsuke's relationship continues. When Kōsuke asks about Chiaki's absence, Makoto explains he left to study abroad, concealing the truth. Kaho remains part of the group in the revised timeline.
