Description
Inori serves as a blacksmith's apprentice, his spirit ignited by a fierce hatred for oni demons after their destruction impacted his family. This vendetta stems directly from the turmoil caused when his sister Seri fell in love with the oni tribe member Ikutidaru. Despite his hot-headed and abrasive nature, he possesses an open honesty and demonstrates profound loyalty to his family and allies. As one of the Eight Guardians, he bears the title of Suzaku of Heaven, wielding fire-based elemental powers channeled through a dragon jewel visibly embedded in his forehead.
His journey involves significant transformation, evolving from a singular focus on destroying oni to embracing empathy and broader compassion. This shift is guided by his interactions with the White Dragon Priestess, Akane Motomiya, who teaches him to care for others beyond his personal vengeance, fundamentally reshaping his perspective. Inori harbors romantic feelings for Akane and openly confesses them in some adaptations. While he ultimately supports her relationship with his fellow guardian Tenma Morimura, his personal ending in game narratives depicts him staying with Akane and expressing his affection. Within the guardian group, he maintains friendships with Minamoto no Yorihisa, Abe no Yasuaki, and Eisen, collaborating with them to protect the capital from vengeful spirits and the oni clan's schemes.
In the *Maihitoyo* storyline, Inori appears as part of the core guardian group tasked with purifying a cursed imperial palace. While the narrative primarily focuses on Akane's emotional struggles and her bond with the new character Suefumi, Inori's role remains consistent as a supportive guardian contributing combat strength against supernatural threats, maintaining his established character without further personal development in this specific narrative.
