Description
Kazuki Arisaka stands as a central protagonist, her narrative deeply intertwined with childhood friend Yuuji Kagura. She harbored intense romantic feelings for Yuuji from their earliest years, considering him her first love. These emotions endured powerfully throughout their ten-year separation after his family moved away, solidifying her idealized image of him as inherently kind and gentle. Her anticipation for his family's return to the neighboring house brimmed with excitement and hope for reuniting with this cherished vision of Yuuji.

Their reunion shatters her expectations utterly. The gentle boy of her memories is replaced by Yuuji exhibiting overtly lewd and perverted behavior, frequently invading her privacy, harboring explicit fantasies, and touching her or other girls inappropriately. This stark contrast between her treasured past and his present conduct causes profound distress, prompting her initial outright rejection and hostile reactions, often expressed through physical punishment directed at him.

Fate intervenes when both sets of parents become stranded overseas, forcing Kazuki, her older sister Hatsune, Yuuji, and his younger sister Marie into shared living. Hatsune actively manipulates circumstances to push Kazuki and Yuuji together, deliberately engineering scenarios leading to embarrassing or sexually charged encounters between them. Despite Kazuki's outward resistance and anger towards Yuuji's actions, moments surface revealing his underlying kindness and loyalty—such as helping her choose a swimsuit based on her preferences or demonstrating genuine concern for her well-being. These instances create deep internal conflict for Kazuki, challenging the accuracy of her idealized past.

A pivotal shift occurs through the rediscovery of Kazuki's childhood diary, facilitated by Hatsune. Its entries reveal Yuuji displayed similar boundary-pushing playfulness even as a child, contradicting her sanitized memories. Crucially, the diary shows Kazuki herself was more tolerant and even participatory in his childhood antics. This epiphany forces her to acknowledge Yuuji hasn't fundamentally changed into a pervert; rather, his childish playfulness has been amplified by puberty into obnoxiousness. Concurrently, she realizes she has become more rigid, controlling, and prone to anger, failing to outgrow her own childish desire for things—especially Yuuji—to conform strictly to her expectations. This realization marks the beginning of her accepting Yuuji, faults included, and acknowledging her persistent romantic feelings.

Her development involves gradually lowering her defenses. While she continues reacting negatively to Yuuji's overtly perverted acts, she becomes less violently punitive and more open to positive interaction. She demonstrates protectiveness over him, especially when others like the strict photography assistant Haya criticize him. Her jealousy intensifies as their relationship deepens, particularly concerning other girls like her flirtatious friend Chihaya Suzuhara (who offers to "take him") or the younger, busty Nina Isokawa (who has a crush on him). Kazuki struggles significantly to openly confess her feelings, a core internal conflict.

Kazuki excels as a member of her school's swimming club, showcasing athleticism. However, her cooking skills are notoriously poor; her dishes appear visually appealing but become inedible or physically debilitating due to her habit of adding bizarre or excessive ingredients. She possesses notable physical strength, often demonstrated when punishing Yuuji.

Her relationships extend beyond Yuuji. She shares a close, complex bond with her older sister Hatsune, who, despite causing embarrassment through manipulations and cosplay antics, deeply cares for her, especially evident when Kazuki falls ill. Her friendship with Chihaya Suzuhara involves camaraderie but also rivalry and tension due to Chihaya's receptiveness to Yuuji. Kazuki also develops a connection with Yuuji's sister, Marie Kagura, who initially punishes Yuuji with airsoft guns but later displays complex feelings, including jealousy, as Kazuki and Yuuji grow closer.
