Description
Mashisu Makibi first met Misao Kuramitsu when a stray tennis ball struck her. Though Misao apologized, Mashisu, momentarily captivated by his appearance, didn't hear him and responded with a headlock. Misao later invited her to lunch with his family, introducing her to Mihoshi Kuramitsu, forging Mashisu's early link to the Kuramitsus. She previously served alongside Mihoshi and Noike before Mihoshi became notably clumsy.
Years later, Mashisu became second-in-command aboard the Kuramitsu starship *Choubimaru*, replacing Noike Kamiki Jurai per Mikami Kuramitsu's orders. When Misao, misled by Z's false intelligence, planned to destroy Earth to "rescue" Mihoshi from Tenchi Masaki, Mashisu opposed him to avert Mihoshi's potential hatred. She devised an alternate scheme: frame Ryoko Hakubi for the *Choubimaru*'s destruction. Mashisu dispatched subordinates to provoke Ryoko, Ayeka, and Washu while personally confronting Sasami. Sasami defeated Mashisu in combat, helping her acknowledge her feelings for Misao.
During Ryoko's later drunken assault on the *Choubimaru*, Mashisu rushed to the bridge to shield Misao. She confronted him, prompting Misao to order the crew's evacuation. He then shielded her from an apparent explosion. Believing these were her final moments, Mashisu confessed her love while recalling their first meeting. The injuries and explosion were revealed as illusions crafted by Washu to test Misao's priorities. Mashisu felt profound embarrassment when others witnessed her confession after both were transported safely aboard *Tsunami-fune*.
After the incident, Mikami Kuramitsu punished Mashisu with six months of cleaning duties at Galaxy Police headquarters. When Misao requested her accompaniment during his ten-year family obligation—a privilege reserved for spouses—Minami Kuramitsu rejected Mashisu as "unworthy." Lady Seto intervened, adopting Mashisu to grant her social standing. Mitoto, Misao and Mihoshi's mother, secured the Kuramitsu family council's approval for the marriage, broadcast galaxy-wide. Mashisu married Misao, becoming Mashisu Kuramitsu, and later assumed command of the *Choubimaru* as a wedding gift while Misao joined the Galaxy Army.
