Description
The character known as the "Ghost Academy Teacher" formally holds the title "Yōkai-sensei" (妖怪学校の先生), meaning "Monster School Teacher." He instructs at a specialized academy dedicated to training monsters and demons in frightening humans, focusing on traditional scare techniques like eerie sounds, sudden appearances, and intimidating atmospheres.

Originating in the earlier series *Hōrensō Man* (Spinach Man), he transitioned into the *Kaiketsu Zorori* universe. His role expanded in the anime adaptation, particularly during Season 2’s three-part finale. He oversees a diverse student body including Dracula, Werewolf, Mummy, Gorgon, Yuki-onna, and Kaminari Youngster, each facing unique challenges—Yuki-onna’s powers diminish due to climate change, while Rokurokubi’s effectiveness wanes from poor diet.

His mentorship extends beyond the classroom, actively helping students overcome obstacles: adapting Yuki-onna’s techniques and building Kaminari Youngster’s confidence. He coordinates extracurricular activities like managing the academy’s underperforming baseball team in the Monster Major League. He occasionally collaborates with protagonist Zorori, such as enlisting him as a substitute teacher during his own illness; Zorori’s unconventional methods temporarily disrupted the curriculum.

A notable subplot involves rehabilitating elderly monsters who lost their scare capabilities. After Zorori aided these retirees, Yōkai-sensei thanked him with a rare Duke Bururu card—unaware this gift would trigger future events when the card’s value surfaced. His baseball team’s recurring struggles, including injuries and ineffective specialized players like pitcher Nomonoke, appear in Book 33 of the original children’s book series.

The character reappears in spin-offs and expanded media, such as the "Monster Major League" storyline, reinforcing his role as a fixture in the franchise’s supernatural education system.
