TV-Series
Description
Cao Da Hen leads the Cao family as a Chinese martial arts master, the son of traditional Bajiquan master Cao Fusheng. He diverges sharply from his father's path by aggressively commercializing their martial arts heritage for profit, creating significant conflict due to his father's disapproval of treating their family style as a financial product.
His family includes two daughters: Cao Chunyang, his biological child from his second marriage, and Cao Ling-Shen, born to his third wife (previously married to Mao Lan's father, making Ling-Shen Mao Lan's maternal half-sister). After marrying Ling-Shen's mother, he separated her from Mao Lan during their childhood.
Cao Da Hen's primary initiative is Prime Mat, a televised female martial arts tournament he created and organizes. Its core purpose is to showcase Chunyang's combat abilities and prove the Cao family's supremacy; he actively manipulates the competition to position Chunyang as its dominant figure.
Within the family, he enables Chunyang's abusive behavior toward Ling-Shen, who serves as a sparring dummy and endures near-fatal training sessions. This reflects his prioritization of Chunyang's development and the family's reputation over Ling-Shen's well-being.
Physically, Cao Da Hen possesses long black hair and a beard, typically dressed in traditional Chinese attire such as a qipao and pants. His actions consistently exploit martial arts for personal gain and status, orchestrating the central conflicts of the series.
