Description
Sataiho, born Sa Enjun, once led the Sa Clan as one of the palace’s three Grand Officials, bearing the title of Taiho. His clan, marked by the brown crest of a spiral peacock, rose notoriety through corruption, blackmail, and violent schemes to secure influence. Under Sa Enjun’s rule, Sa Province descended into chaos as assassinations and threats became tools to fuel the clan’s ascent.

His wife, Hyou Eiki, later counseled the clan’s current leader, Sa Kokujun, her adopted son with Sa Enjun. The couple also raised Kourin, who married Tou Eigetsu. Sa Enjun’s younger brother, Sa Chuushou, fathered three grandsons: Sa Soujun, Sa Sakujun—architect of the Murderous Blades’ resurgence—and Sa Kokujun. Through them, the clan’s legacy of ruthless ambition endured.

Hyou Eiki’s pursuits later veered into the supernatural, seizing control of Sa Sakujun’s abandoned body, which Anju, a being tied to the Black Immortal, then wielded. She met her end aiding Ruka, a central Hyou Clan figure, in a later confrontation. Sa Enjun’s political life revolved around his bitter rivalry with Grand Official Advisor Sho, whose shadow he tirelessly sought to escape.

The Sa Clan’s downfall intertwined with Saiunkoku’s political storms and otherworldly conflicts, embroiled in Hyou Clan intrigues and immortal interventions. Sa Enjun’s granddaughter, Sa Shunki, wed Sa Kokujun, sustaining the bloodline amid relentless turmoil. Their corruption and collapse crystallized Sa Enjun’s dual role as both architect and casualty of the empire’s shifting power tides.
