Description
Kirara Imai, an 18-year-old high school student, navigates a tangled romantic web with classmate Konpei Asai and friend Eimi. Years of mutual pining culminate in a relationship and engagement with Konpei, but tragedy strikes at 24 when she perishes in a car accident en route to their wedding. Bound by unresolved longing, she reemerges as a ghost, hurled six to eight years into the past to haunt her younger self and Konpei during their high school years.

Manifesting with her adult visage and supernatural abilities—flight, intangibility—the spectral Kirara aims to fast-track romance between her past self and Konpei, hoping to avert her fate. Yet her interventions spiral into a fraught four-way dynamic, entangling her younger counterpart, Konpei, Eimi, and herself. Her possessive interference in Eimi’s affections and insistence on controlling Konpei’s heart fray relationships, disrupting the timeline’s natural course.

A stark contrast emerges between the timid younger Kirara, struggling to voice her feelings, and the ghost’s fierce, emotionally driven tactics. As the ghost’s methods alienate Konpei from her past self, her motives grow murky, blurring the line between guidance and obsession. Exorcists Arthur and Mita, misreading her spectral influence as malicious, intensify the chaos by hunting her across time.

Her ghostly permanence hangs in limbo: though she yearns to linger eternally with Konpei, the paradox of coexisting with her living self and the original timeline’s Konpei remains unresolved. Unanswered threads linger—Eimi’s shifting role in the love quadrangle, whether the exorcists cease their pursuit, and whether the ghost finds peace or persists in a fractured reality.

Expanding the manga’s scope, deeper complexities surface through Konpei’s ultimate destiny and new characters absent from the OVA. The narrative probes regret’s weight, the peril of tampering with time, and the moral gray zones of rewriting history for personal solace.
