Description
Konpei Asai, known as Konpei, is the romantic interest of Kirara Imai. Their relationship blossoms from a university friendship into a romance that leads to marriage, a union tragically prevented by Kirara's death in a car accident on their wedding day.
Eight years before the wedding, Konpei is a university student who has just met a younger Kirara. He possesses a photograph of her during this time, which he denies having when asked, creating arguments and tension in their early encounters.
Konpei interacts directly with the ghost of his future wife, who has returned from the future. This confrontation confuses him greatly, as he must navigate the presence of two distinct versions of the same person: a bold and forward ghost and a shy, inexperienced younger Kirara. He questions whether they can be considered the same individual due to their vastly different personalities.
His compassionate nature is revealed when he intervenes to stop an exorcism ritual aimed at banishing the ghost Kirara, performed by members of an occult club and Kirara's friend. He acts to prevent the ghost from suffering pain, an action that results in significant damage to his residence.
The character is caught in a complex emotional situation, navigating the affections and interactions of both the past and future versions of Kirara Imai, which in turn influences the dynamics of his developing relationship with the younger Kirara.
