Hinata Takeru is an ordinary high school student thrust into extraordinary circumstances due to his family's role in fighting extraterrestrial threats. His father, Doctor Hiroshi Hyuga, created the specialized "MARS" suit, an anti-monster armor system demanding specific DNA compatibility. Takeru possesses this rare compatibility, making him one of the few capable operators, though his father drafted him against his will, forging a strained and oppressive relationship.

The MARS suit grants Takeru superhuman strength, durability, and speed. It enables wall-level destruction through melee combat and building-level devastation when combined with his standard-issue plasma rifle. However, his average human stamina limits him, constrained by the suit's operational time and his baseline physiology outside its protection. Takeru operates alongside the Anti-unidentified Ancients Special Team (AAST), combating hostile entities called Ancients. During a critical mission transporting Martian biological fragments to the US, Ancients ambush the convoy. In the fierce battle, Takeru faces off against the Ancient leader, suffers a broken arm and severe injuries, and ultimately defeats the adversary using an untested weapon provided by an AAST member.

This conflict reveals a profound philosophical truth about the origins of both humanity and the Ancients, though Takeru's personal reaction to this revelation remains undocumented.
