Description
Rocket, a borzoi dog, leads the Rocket Brothers alongside his younger siblings Jet and Missile. Initially serving the antagonist Hougen, the trio spies on the protagonist's group. Rocket captures the protagonist during a mission but identifies him as the son of a revered leader. Witnessing another dog’s self-sacrifice for the protagonist prompts Rocket to question his loyalty. He undergoes a transformation, embracing the importance of companionship over survival. This realization leads him to defect from Hougen and join the protagonist's army, despite his brothers’ initial hesitation.

Hougen retaliates by killing Jet and Missile, an act that leaves Rocket in perpetual sorrow. He frequently mourns at sites connected to his brothers’ demise, reflecting on their tragic end with profound sadness.

As a defector, Rocket becomes one of the protagonist’s most dependable allies. His swiftness and trustworthiness prove invaluable for reconnaissance and messenger tasks. He locates the protagonist to alert him of an impending Russian soldier attack and delivers critical intelligence about captured comrades. Rocket engages in numerous conflicts, battling hybrid bears and rival dog factions.

In subsequent events, Kurohabaki Jinemon captures Rocket, though he eventually gains freedom. During a pivotal bear confrontation, Rocket exhibits courage by rescuing a wounded ally, assaulting a bear’s neck to enable a counterstrike. He suffers injuries, including a severe throat wound, yet persists in fighting. Rocket also survives a treacherous river escape with another ally, later rescued by additional characters.

Rocket’s character embodies politeness, peacefulness, and steadfast loyalty. He expresses frustration toward dogs that desert their comrades, underscoring his belief in solidarity. His enduring grief over his brothers surfaces as melancholy in familiar places, yet he channels his purpose into aiding new allies. The emotional toll of his brothers’ deaths remains a constant, fueling his dedication to the protagonist’s cause.
