Description
Ren Sohma served as a maid in the Sohma household before becoming the widow of former family head Akira Sohma and mother to Akito Sohma. She initially gained Akira's attention by seeming to alleviate his loneliness, leading to their marriage despite senior staff objections.
During her pregnancy, zodiac members' dreams revealed her child as the reincarnated "God." Learning the baby was female, Ren threatened abortion unless the child was raised male, fearing Akito would supplant her in Akira's affection. After Akito's birth, Ren resented the attention her daughter received, refusing to hold her.
