Description
Doronjo, born Hiroko Sasagawa, leads the Doronbo Gang under Dokurobei's command. Her primary mission involves securing Skull Stone or Skull Ring fragments for wealth and power, yet she harbors a personal desire for a conventional housewife life, creating an internal conflict between her villainous duties and private aspirations.

In the original Yatterman series, she directs Boyacky and Tonzura on missions to obtain Skull Stone pieces, frequently battling the Yatterman duo. Despite recurring defeats and Dokurobei's punishments, she blends vanity, intelligence, and occasional clumsiness. Doronjo orchestrates scams and mecha deployments, though plans typically fail due to ineptitude or Yatterman intervention. She demonstrates genuine loyalty to her subordinates, showing distress when believing Boyacky dead and sadness after the gang's initial disbandment. A subtle romantic interest in Yatterman-1 (Gan Takada) emerges toward the series' end, leading to the gang's peaceful dissolution upon discovering Dokurobei's betrayal.

The Yatterman 2008 remake reiterates her pursuit of Skull Rings, emphasizing her wish for eternal beauty and a lover, particularly Yatterman-1. This version reduces smoking and nudity gags while amplifying fourth-wall-breaking humor and her emotional bonds with the henchmen. Following another temporary disbandment, she reunites with the gang after Dokurobei's return, choosing to continue their escapades indefinitely.

In the OVA Time Bokan: Royal Revival, Doronjo and Tonzura re-form the Doronbo Gang to compete in a multi-series villain race. Boyacky rejoins mid-race, and the trio narrowly wins using the Kitchenbot mecha. Their victory triggers a celebratory battle against Tatsunoko heroes including Gatchaman and Casshan, ending in defeat. Post-race, Doronjo returns to civilian life with a family but occasionally reunites with the gang for new adventures, suggesting nostalgia for their chaotic dynamic.

Yatterman Night reveals her legacy centuries later: she married, had children, and her descendants faced exile under Dokurobei's tyrannical Yatter Kingdom. Her descendant Leopard adopts the Doronjo alias to lead a rebellion, with the original Doronjo implied to watch over her from the afterlife, delivering a final benediction.

Across all media, Doronjo balances comedic villainy with nuanced humanity—her cunning and ambition juxtaposed with loyalty to her gang and unfulfilled domestic dreams. Her lasting cultural impact inspires descendants and analogous characters like Pokémon's Jessie.
