Description
Genzo Makishima held the positions of director at Max Pharmaceuticals and head of Chronos Corporation's Japanese branch. He seized control of Max Pharmaceuticals by bankrupting his brother's company and subsequently murdering him, later adopting his nephew Agito Makishima. Genzo viewed Agito solely as an employee or tool, devoid of genuine familial bonds. His responsibilities included overseeing Zoanoid development and analyzing recovered Guyver units prior to their theft by a rogue test-type Zoanoid.

His personality manifested as prideful, manipulative, and devoid of empathy. Genzo readily used others as pawns to advance his ambitions without sympathy. He frequently insulted subordinates and emphasized his high status within Chronos, persisting even after losing his directorship. His temperament was characterized by narrow-mindedness, quick anger, and a tendency to blame others for failures. He harbored intense hatred toward Guyver I (Shō Fukamachi), whom he blamed for his downfall, yet exhibited fear and deference toward higher-ranking Chronos officials like the Council of Twelve or inspectors such as Richard Guyot.

Following repeated failures to recover the stolen Guyver units, Richard Guyot removed Genzo from his position. As punishment, Chronos forcibly transformed him into a prototype Zoanoid designated Enzyme I (development code OGET 001, serial number YZN 108-J). This incomplete transformation drastically reduced his lifespan to approximately seven days. Enzyme I stood 257 cm tall, weighed 324 kg, and featured a biomechanical design inspired by rats and anglerfish, exhibiting white fur, a massive tail, claws, and fanged teeth.

Engineered as a dedicated Guyver-killer, Enzyme I possessed blood containing a potent enzyme corrosive to Guyver armor cells. This enzyme rapidly degraded upon air exposure, requiring direct physical contact for effectiveness. Consequently, Enzyme I utilized specialized transfusers within its claws, teeth, and tail stinger to inject the enzyme during attacks. The creature wielded superhuman strength, capable of physically overpowering Guyver I, and demonstrated high endurance, continuing combat despite severe injuries like a severed arm or partial head loss.

In battle against Guyver I, Enzyme I nearly succeeded by ripping out the control medal, destabilizing the Guyver armor and causing it to begin consuming its host. However, the damaged Guyver regenerated and counterattacked. At this point, Richard Guyot telepathically triggered Enzyme I's self-destruction. The resulting explosion coated the regenerating Guyver in Enzyme I's corrosive blood, leading to mutual annihilation during the destruction of Chronos Japan's headquarters.

Genzo Makishima's design varied across adaptations. The 2005 anime depicted him with gray hair and a brown suit, yellow shirt, and black tie. The earlier OVA showed him with brown hair and a blue suit. Manga illustrations featured him in a striped suit. The film *Guyver: Out of Control* presented him with gray hair and a brown suit paired with a purple tie.
