Description
The Caramel Man series comprises robotic and android creations engineered by Dr. Mashirito and later Dr. Mashirito Jr., primarily for world domination. The inaugural model, Caramel Man 001, featured a cockpit in its torso for Dr. Mashirito to pilot. This mech wielded immense strength, capable of punching Earth toward Mars, cracking the moon, and enduring collisions with Venus. Gatchan consumed it during a battle against Arale Norimaki in Penguin Village.
Caramel Man 002 adopted an ostrich-like design for racing in the Penguin Village Grand Prix. It produced feces to exploit Arale's weakness, swam like a swan when painted white, and jumped frog-style with green paint—though penguin-inspired black-and-white coloring failed to enable flight. The crab-shaped Caramel Man 003 resisted Gatchan's consumption via rubber claws and launched fecal projectiles.
Caramel Man 004 initially designated Dr. Mashirito's short-lived robotic body before he upgraded to a cyborg. Later, the name applied to Obotchaman, an android boy modeled after Arale's schematics. Obotchaman defected to Penguin Village and destroyed Dr. Mashirito in his Caramel Man 009 form during a tournament, causing Mashirito's death and ghostly transformation. Subsequent entries included Caramel Man 005, a paper-mâché mask of Senbei Norimaki's face wrecked by Obotchaman; Caramel Man 006, a remote-controlled Arale replica for deception; and Caramel Man 007, which overpowered Arale and Obotchaman before Gatchan or control flaws destroyed it.
Dr. Mashirito converted himself into cyborg Caramel Man 008, then robotic Caramel Man 009 after correcting a numbering error—a form in which Obotchaman killed him. Caramel Man 010 manifested twice: as a brainwashed Obotchaman in anime filler, sacrificing himself against the Teapot Genie before restoration; and as a manga sequel giant robot annihilated by Arale's N'Cha Cannon. Later models comprised Caramel Man 011, destroyed in *Jump Super Stars*; Caramel Man 022, a cyclops robot by Dr. Mashirito Jr. swiftly defeated by Arale; and Caramel Man 023, an "evil" Arale duplicate named Abale who rebelled without malice.
Additional variants featured Great Caramel Man, resembling CM001 in anime films, and Caramel Man J, a pirate-themed final boss from *Jump Ultimate Stars*.
