TV Special
Description
Beauty Smith stands as the primary antagonist. His notably unattractive appearance reflects a cruel disposition. He operates through manipulative and exploitative behavior, driven by greed and a desire for control.

Sentenced to San Quentin prison twenty years prior by Judge Scott, his criminal history fuels a deep-seated vendetta against the Scott family. Encountering Grey Beaver, Mit-Sah, and White Fang in Fort Yukon, he orchestrates a scheme to acquire White Fang. After his purchase offer is refused, he sets fire to Grey Beaver's cabin and falsely accuses White Fang of biting him, resulting in Grey Beaver's banishment and White Fang's forcible acquisition.

As White Fang's owner, he subjects the wolfdog to systematic physical and emotional torment, aiming to transform him into a ferocious fighting dog known as "The Fighting Wolf." His deliberate cruelty seeks to incite hatred and aggression, believing this enhances combat prowess. He forces White Fang into dogfighting matches for profit, culminating in a near-fatal confrontation with a bulldog named Cherokee in Dawson. During the fight, he persists in beating the incapacitated White Fang, halting only when Weedon Scott intervenes and forcibly purchases him.

After losing White Fang, learning of Weedon Scott's identity reignites his desire for revenge. He travels to San Francisco and kidnaps Mit-Sah to manipulate White Fang. Infiltrating the Scott mansion, he confronts Judge Scott, revealing his identity as the man sentenced years earlier. He attempts to murder Judge Scott at gunpoint. Mit-Sah intervenes, leading to a struggle where both Mit-Sah and White Fang are shot. Beauty Smith is accidentally shot in the chest during the altercation. Following his incapacitation, authorities apprehend him; Judge Scott orders him taken to a hospital instead of returning him to prison.

Unlike his novel counterpart, his involvement in dogfighting stems from the economic realities of the Klondike Gold Rush, presented as an alternative for those failing to find gold. His personal vendetta against Judge Scott incorporates narrative elements originally associated with the character Jim Hall.
