Minatsu Nakazato excels as the pitching ace for Asaoka High School's softball club. Her curt and occasionally rough demeanor, often expressed with phrases like "Hey now" and "How annoying," stems from her father being a lesser-known professional wrestler. She attracts unwanted romantic attention from classmate Shu Akiba and the school's softball and boxing club advisor, Kango Yamazakura.

Witnessing a hit-and-run forces Minatsu to evade threatening local gangsters by adopting the alias Maria Sudō, disguising herself with long hair and glasses. This alter ego complicates her life when Naoto Kadomatsu, a boxing champion living in her apartment building, falls for "Maria" unaware of her true identity. Naoto's discovery that Minatsu and Maria are the same person ignites a rivalry with Shu, culminating in a boxing match where they agree the loser will stop pursuing her, an arrangement Minatsu opposes.
