Description
Fangmei Xun, an orphan adopted by Hong Kong's Man Mo Temple in the Scarlet Hills district, works diligently at the temple to repay their kindness. Her duties include cleaning and maintaining the library, responsibilities she takes great pride in fulfilling. Cheerful, outgoing, and kind, Fangmei is popular within the Scarlet Hills community and demonstrates generosity, such as offering her own allowance to support others financially. She deeply admires the temple's martial arts master, Xiuying Hong, and aspires to embody her virtues.

Fangmei first encounters Ryo Hazuki when informing him of Xiuying's request to air out the temple library books. She later assists him with this task, cautioning him to handle the valuable materials carefully. Their relationship develops through optional interactions; Fangmei gradually shifts from formally addressing him as "Hazuki-san" to using his first name, "Ryo." This change may occur through repeated conversations or after Ryo loses a fight at Man Mo Park. Fangmei expresses concern for Ryo's well-being, especially after he sustains injuries. She tends to his wounds and urges him to rest, emphasizing Xiuying's worries about his safety.

On her birthday, March 3rd, Ryo learns of the occasion through her friend Eileen Edelweiss and purchases a necklace Fangmei appeared to admire from a clothing shop. However, upon receiving the gift, Fangmei clarifies she was actually interested in a dress intended for Xiuying. Later, when Ryo prepares to leave Hong Kong, she confides her feelings for him and gives him an amulet she possessed since her orphanage days, along with a photograph of Xiuying.

Fangmei is observant of Xiuying's emotional struggles, particularly concerning her missing brother, Ziming. She shares this background with Ryo, explaining how Xiuying was raised in an orphanage before her brother's sudden departure. During Ryo's investigation into the Chawan Sign, Fangmei offers guidance by directing him to the Hong Kong Tea Shop for information. She later locates him injured in Man Mo Park after an ambush and ensures his safe return.

In an incident within the temple courtyard, an apprentice named Shiquan Fu photographs Fangmei and Ryo together. She requests these photos, and Ryo chooses one to keep—either a close or distant pose. If he declines to choose, Fangmei selects for him. Fangmei also socializes with locals, including dining with Eileen at Man Mo Bistro, where an optional confrontation with Yellow Heads members may occur.
