Badli acts as the chief of police's right-hand man in Baghdad, charged with enforcing law and order. However, he operates through corruption and abuse of authority, associating with criminal figures like Kamahakim and the Forty Thieves. He participates in their parties, characterized by heavy drinking and sexual activities.

While Madia, Kamahakim's daughter, is swimming, Badli encounters her. He makes unwanted advances that escalate to sexual assault despite her clear rejection, traumatizing her and prompting her vow of revenge. This act underscores his predatory nature and disregard for consent.

During a disruptive sandstorm at a slave auction, Badli murders Shalieman (also called Sulaiman), the master of a mansion sheltering Aldin and Miriam. He frames Aldin for the killing, leading to Aldin's imprisonment and torture. This demonstrates Badli's readiness to use violence and deception to remove obstacles.

Approximately one year later, Badli encounters Aldin in the desert. Aldin confronts him, threatening retaliation, but ultimately chooses to let Badli depart unharmed. This desert confrontation represents the sole direct consequence depicted for Badli's actions within the narrative. His storyline concludes after this encounter.
