Description
M16A1 operates as a core member and tactical instructor for the Anti-Rain Team, distinguished as its most experienced and level-headed operator. She displays a protective instinct, particularly towards M4A1, actively shielding her from battlefield threats and rallying others to offer support. Her personality blends straightforwardness with emotional stability, providing a reliable anchor for teammates despite her own private struggles with past traumas.

Physically, M16A1 features distinctive orange side bangs, a facial scar, and an eyepatch covering her right eye. She deliberately retains the scar and eyepatch as constant reminders of her history, ensuring perpetual vigilance. Her pragmatic nature is reflected in her practical raincoat attire. She consistently carries an equipment case containing unspecified accessories, noted only as "nothing good."

Her background originates in Operation Butterfly, where she led a squad to rescue Lycoris. During this mission, the Parapluie virus corrupted tactical dolls, inducing a berserk state. M16A1's prototype neural cloud initially resisted the virus, allowing her to neutralize affected allies. She confronted UMP45, mistakenly believing her to be the virus's perpetrator. Their violent clash resulted in mutual injuries: M16A1 lost her right eye, while UMP45 suffered a left eye wound and broken limbs. Neural meltdown incapacitated M16A1 before she could finish UMP45.

The emergent AI Elisa later reactivated M16A1 under temporary control to access Lycoris. Before dying, Lycoris warned M16A1 that William was manipulating events to revive Lunasia and urged Persica to avoid this trap. Elisa released control, but William encrypted M16A1's memories of the warning. The Parapluie virus persisted in her neural cloud and eventually spread to the entire AR Team.

This incident fueled M16A1's hostility toward UMP45 and distrust of UMP40. She also harbored complex resentment toward AR HK416, whom she had transferred from Operation Butterfly for insubordination. M16A1 later dismissed HK416's combat abilities in a confrontation but noted her potential threat if targeting AR Team members.

As the AR Team's mentor, she guided M4A1 in leadership, advised M4 SOPMOD II to channel rather than suppress violent impulses, and trained RO635 in tactical independence. Her operational history includes rescuing M4A1 from Agent during a data recovery mission in Sangvis Ferri Safe House 3 and reluctantly permitting ST AR-15's sacrificial plan against a Sangvis Ferri mastermind in Area S08.

During the assault on Area S05, Dreamer's attack locked M4A1's neural cloud into a catatonic state. M16A1 then partnered with RO635 to eliminate Dreamer, neutralizing a dummy to prevent SOPMOD II from falling into a trap. She later cautioned RO635 against yielding tactical control to UMP45 during a joint mission with Squad 404 in Area S03.

Her story culminates in a sacrifice to ensure M4A1's escape.
