Description
Initially serving as comic relief minion to antagonist Don Harumage, Da Cider displays stubbornness and arrogance while carrying out orders. He operates alongside partner Leska and the snake adviser robot Heavy Meta-Ko, which resides within his dimensional shoulder pads. Using a snake-charming flute granted by Heavy Meta-Ko, he summons the Guardian Knight Queen Cideron. His combat effectiveness depends entirely on Queen Cideron's Pressurometer gauge; reaching "infinity" enables the mecha to unleash signature attacks such as the Black Bomb energy wave or the finishing move Yaripanther (also known as Queen Cideron Tornado).
A mid-series revelation exposes Da Cider's brainwashing and true heritage as descendant of the legendary Hero Cider, ally to the first Lamuness. This triggers a Heel–Face Turn, leading him to join protagonist Lamune Baba's party. Despite this alliance, he maintains an antagonistic rapport with Lamune, constantly arguing and competing for recognition as the "true hero." His personality blends arrogance with hidden vulnerability; he compulsively makes untranslatable puns (reflected in his name, derived from "Dasai da" – "That's lame!"), though only Heavy Meta-Ko laughs. He also expresses loneliness and a deep desire for belonging, themes echoed in his melancholic character song lyrics.
In later continuations like VS Knight Lamune & 40 Fire, Da Cider evolves into a mentor for Lamune's son, Lamunade. Older and more experienced, he pilots the mecha Kaiser Fire alongside Lamunade, occupying the higher of two cockpit seats. He sustains his rivalry dynamic with the new hero, frequently attempting to overshadow him. His relationship with Leska deepens, revealing genuine care beneath his flirtatious exterior, and he remains fiercely protective of her. His design features purple hair, a height of 202cm (~6'6"), and signature shoulder pads housing Heavy Meta-Ko.
