Description
Hotori Kawada attends the school central to the story, recognizable by her light blue hair and reserved demeanor. She frequently retreats to the art club room outside class hours to work on a special painting, guarding it closely and refusing to show anyone until she deems it finished. This withdrawn nature stems from deep personal trauma.

Kawada lost her mother early in life. Her father's subsequent decision to remarry made her feel displaced, triggering a rebellious phase. During this period, she fell in with negative influences and adopted adult behaviors, including late-night socializing and drinking. This culminated in a traumatic experience that instilled a pronounced fear of men. An exception is her art teacher, Shimotsuki-sensei, for whom she developed romantic feelings. While guarded, she remains open to connection if those feelings were returned.

Her background includes an implied history of sexual assault, contextualized as a rape backstory, contributing to her complex psychology and relationships. Within the narrative, she becomes involved with Haruhiko, a teacher with past entanglements with other characters. Following a sexual encounter with him, he is depicted smoking a cigarette. Her role expands to include participation in a consensual threesome with Haruhiko and another female teacher during the final episode.

Kawada's visual design incorporates elements like absolute territory (thigh-high socks) and light blue hair, consistent with the series' stylistic conventions. Her interactions and development explore themes of trauma, vulnerability, and tentative connection under difficult circumstances.
