Description
Yōichirō Hidaka, father to Sanae Hidaka, permits his daughter to shelter Taki—a wolf-dog hybrid orphaned by a one-eyed bear’s attack—within their home. Though compassionate toward the creature, Yōichirō recognizes Taki’s struggle to reconcile his wild instincts with domestic life, culminating in the decision to entrust the animal to hunter Kaneto and his son Yoshito. This choice underscores the tension between Taki’s dual nature and the demands of human society.
Yōichirō serves as a bridge between these contrasting worlds, enabling Taki’s gradual shift toward his untamed roots. His pragmatic yet empathetic stance subtly shapes the hybrid’s path, propelling Taki’s eventual confrontation with the bear that destroyed his family. Yōichirō’s involvement remains tethered to this pivotal dynamic, framing his role within the intersection of human responsibility and primal destiny.
