Description
Suuchiipai is the superhero alter ego of Kyoko Misaki, an ordinary Tokyo resident. By day, she leads an unremarkable life; by night, she transforms into a mahjong-themed crimefighter. Her relentless pursuit of the Legendary Pai stems from crushing personal debts, including mortgage and car payments.
The Legendary Pai are ten mystical mahjong tiles materializing as powerful monsters once per century. Whoever defeats and collects all ten gains a single wish. Suuchiipai clashes with these creatures while competing against four rivals: Milky-Pai, a bunny-eared alien; Cherry-Pai, a dominatrix-styled maid; Lemon-Pai, a cybernetically enhanced soldier; and Peach-Pai, a magic realm emissary. Each rival battles for their own wish, sparking conflict among the contenders.
Her quest ignites while working at a casino when mahjong tiles levitate and morph into monsters. A divine proclamation reveals that defeating all ten entities grants a wish, propelling her into the hunt. She navigates simultaneous battles against the creatures and rival hunters.
Later entries in the series, such as *Idol Janshi Suchie-Pai III*, retain her as the protagonist but pivot to mahjong-centric scenarios—like confronting a duplicate version of herself. These iterations prioritize gameplay mechanics over deepening her backstory, relationships, or character growth. The narrative framework established in the original OVA persists unchanged throughout subsequent media appearances.
