Description
**Gije Zaral** commanded the Buff Clan military expedition that discovered the planet Solo. He possessed a personal history with Karala Ajiba, daughter of the Buff Clan's supreme commander, having been engaged to her and previously serving under her father. This connection fueled his grave concern for her safety when she traveled to Solo against orders, leading him to authorize multiple rescue operations early in the conflict.

A skilled pilot and tactician, Gije demonstrated ruthless efficiency in combat against the Solo Ship, often piloting advanced Buff Clan mecha like the Grees. His initial loyalty lay with the Buff Clan's leadership, particularly Daram Zuba, who adopted and raised him after he was orphaned, fostering a deep, filial loyalty that shaped his early actions.

Gije's character underwent significant development as the conflict progressed. Exposure to the Ideon's power and witnessing escalating devastation caused by the Buff Clan's pursuit sparked his disillusionment. He began questioning the mission's morality and the leadership's motives, especially after Daram abandoned him during a critical battle. This culminated in his defection from the Buff Clan. He later saved Sheryl Formosa's life and covertly boarded the Solo Ship, though the crew remained initially distrustful.

After defecting, Gije formed an intellectual and romantic bond with Sheryl, sharing her obsession with understanding Ide energy. Their relationship developed amid ongoing battles but ended tragically when Gije was killed during combat on the planet Steckin Star. His death occurred while assisting the Solo Ship's crew, specifically piloting one of the Ideon's components as a replacement for the deceased Moera Fatima.

Gije possessed blue hair and mint green eyes, consistent with Buff Clan hair coloration. His arc concluded with his spirit reuniting with Sheryl's in the afterlife following the narrative's cataclysmic finale.
