Description
Tatla manifests as a colossal robotic cat inhabiting another dimension within Meguro City, perpetually ascending a massive escalator structure. Her design directly mirrors the Maria robot from Fritz Lang's *Metropolis*. She is the central idol of the ancient Minerva cult, which performed sacrificial rituals using cats. Archaeological ruins on Planet Q feature a headless Tatla statue inscribed as a goddess symbol repeatedly destroyed and reborn across millennia, suppressed around 4000 B.C. (Before Cats).
The mega-conglomerate Catty & Co., dominating commerce, functions as the cult's corporate manifestation. Tatla shares an intrinsic bond with Tamala, both being different manifestations or reincarnations of the goddess Minerva. This cyclical relationship involves continual sacrifice and rebirth to empower the Minerva cult. Genetic engineering maintains Tamala's perpetual youth as Catty & Co.'s immortal mascot, sustaining Tatla's symbolic role.
Following Tamala's death on Planet Q, she encounters Tatla non-corporeally. Tatla describes their shared existence as a "spinning satanic mirror" of sacrifice and reincarnation, revealing Catty & Co.'s orchestration of the cycle across time. She identifies Orion as a potential location to break the cycle. Tatla acknowledges the cult's manipulations but demonstrates no agency beyond delivering this revelation.
Her physical form is uniquely rendered in 3D computer graphics, contrasting with the predominantly 2D black-and-white animation style of other characters.
