Description
Zuru, operating under the alias Mystery Medafighter, lives a double life as Yuuzuru Oozora—a bookish, introverted student masking his secret crusade against Kilobots. His vengeful persona stems from bitterness toward his father, Dr. Maizu Zora, the Kilobot developer whose obsession fractured their family. Viewing Kilobots as manifestations of paternal abandonment and perversions of authentic Medabot bonds, Zuru wages a personal war against them with merciless tactics.
Disguised by a cape and the absence of his signature glasses, Zuru commands Dorcus (localized as Roks), a stag beetle-type Medabot engineered for battle, later integrating the Kilobot Tyrelbeetle into his arsenal. He operates outside Robattle ethics, prioritizing annihilation over honor, convinced that Kilobots epitomize the corruption of Medafighter-Medabot unity.
Exposure to Ikki Tenryou and Metabee’s symbiotic partnership challenges Zuru’s perception of Medabots as mere weapons. A turning point emerges when he discards Dorcus for the Kilobot Excise, only to reclaim his original partner after Ikki’s intervention—a decision marking his tentative acceptance of collaborative combat ethics.
Zuru’s redemption crystallizes during clashes with Kamizake Kokuryuu, architect of the Kilobot initiative, and his role in liberating Blackbeetle, a Kilobot housing a revolutionary personality Medal. Publicly unmasking himself to thwart Kamizake’s plans, he becomes an advocate for Medabot individuality. This journey concludes with him reconciling his father’s legacy, adopting a worldview that cautions against technological excess while affirming the possibility of harmonious human-Medabot connections.
His Medabots mirror this evolution: Dorcus symbolizes his early unyielding vengeance, Tyrelbeetle his brief descent into morally gray tactics, and his final reunion with Dorcus signifies a restored commitment to integrity—aligning with the Medafighting ideals he once rejected.
