Description
Erika Amazake, known as Arika Amazake in Japanese media, recurs throughout the Medabots franchise, including the sequel Medarot Damashii (Medabots Spirits). She attends the same school as protagonist Ikki Tenryou and reports for the school newspaper, initially the Riverview Review and later the Amazake Newspaper. Her driving motivation is pursuing journalistic scoops, frequently leading her to trail Ikki and his Medabot Metabee due to their involvement in significant events.

She exhibits a strong-minded, feisty, and occasionally bossy personality, particularly when pressuring Ikki to assist her investigations. Despite this assertiveness, she reveals a softer, more feminine side in specific situations. Her dedication to journalism results in persistent investigative behavior, sometimes placing her in danger and necessitating rescue.

In Medarot Damashii, she maintains these traits while engaging with the new Kilobot (Death Medarot) narrative. She continues her reporter role, actively investigating the disturbances caused by these emotionless Medabots. Specific episodes highlight her pursuits: she competes for a scoop against the broadcasting club in "Scoop of the Century" (episode 5), and her personal dimension is showcased when her secretly maintained flower garden is damaged during a Robattle involving the Mystery Medafighter in "Erika's Secret Garden" (episode 11).

Her Medabot partner remains Sailor-Multi, nicknamed Brass, who primarily functions as a "camera girl" during reporting activities rather than extensive combat. Brass consistently accompanies her during investigations and school activities.

Character development in Damashii includes subtle shifts noted by some analyses, describing her as becoming "more spiteful" compared to her original series portrayal. Her interactions with Ikki persist, though prior speculations about romantic feelings or jealousy towards characters like Karin or Nae are not prominently addressed or developed. Her screen time and narrative focus are reduced compared to the original anime; she functions more as a supporting character aiding Ikki against the Kilobot threat while continuing her journalistic activities.
